Professional History:
Derrick has 14 years industry experience in the field of Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Consultancy. Although studying Building Surveying at University in Edinburgh, Derrick’s final year dissertation was titled "Asbestos – The Silent Enemy" and thus started his career in the Asbestos industry.
During Derrick’s 14 years in the industry, he has worked throughout the UK, Australia and in Saudi Arabia. During this time he has been involved with many multi-million pound/dollar projects involving survey programs and Asbestos & Hazardous Materials abatement programs.
Derrick’s Clients have included Government Agencies and local authorities, Airport Authorities, Banks, Health Authorities, Construction Companies and many other industries.
Derrick has many years experience as an accredited Asbestos Fibre Counter and also held the Certificate of Competence in Asbestos as issued by the British Institute of Occupational Hygienists (BIOH). Derrick has also been involved with research in the UK into Exposure levels to Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM).
Derrick is presently an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Occupation Hygienists.
